There are two schemes of delegation regarding planning matters:
- Statutory scheme of delegation
- Council scheme of delegation.
These schemes allow planning officers to take decisions on planning applications.

This is for the purposes of section 43A of the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997 (the Act) and Part 2 of the Town and Country Planning (Schemes of Delegation and Local Review Procedure) (Scotland) Regulations 2013.
