Public Health and Enforcement
The Council will encourage owners to keep their homes in good repair. However, it needs to be recognised that, as a last resort, there may be a need for enforcement action to deal with properties and gardens that fall below acceptable standards. In instances where a property is affecting neighbours with odour or infestation, the Environmental Protection team can investigate whether there are grounds for further action. Overgrown gardens and accumulations can be referred to the Street Enforcement team.
